Prof. T. Subramanyam Naidu, an academic luminary, has left an indelible mark on Anthropology. Formerly Director, Dean, and Head of Anthropology at Central University, Pondicherry, he's known as Prof. Naidu in academia. With 38 years of experience, including 25 years in administrative roles, his influence spans diverse academic spheres. He's received accolades, including 1999 Republic Day Commendation Award for his research on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Prof. Naidu established departments at Pondicherry University and the Centre for Modern Indian Studies at Cologne University, Germany. A mentor to numerous scholars, he's supervised 20 PhDs and 53 M.Phils. He's led 10 Major Research projects, penned 91 research papers, and created 75 Ethnographic Film Documents on India's Particularly Vulnerable Tribes. Internationally, Prof. Naidu taught at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, University of Cologne, and Dalhousie University. He's affiliated with Indian Council of Social Science Research, NCERT's ERIC Research Division, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Orissa Central University. Prof. T. Subramanyam Naidu's legacy is one of scholarly brilliance, mentoring, and significant contributions to research and education.

National Award

Received 1999, Republic Day Commendation Award from the Government of India for the excellent research work on Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
